Dectionary says" an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something. Phobia is an uncontrollable,irrational,and lasting fear of certain object,situation,or activity. The fear can be so overwhelming that someone may want avoid the source of it. What couses or rather the source of that fear is mainly coming from the past incidents or traumas. The types:specific phobia,social phobia,agoraphobia.

When a person has a phobia, they have an intense and irrational fear of a specific object, situation, or activity that is unlikely to cause any harm. This can lead to avoidance behavior along with significant impairment in daily functioning. An individual may suffer from specific phobias (fear of particular objects or situations), social phobias (fear of social or performance situations), agoraphobia (fear of being in a situation where escape may be difficult), and panic disorder (recurrence of panic attacks). Depending on the individual's needs and circumstances, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, or medication may be used as treatment options.

In my college life I used to have social phobia. Phobia is something to which we feal fear. I remain too much tense on that duration and so my father took me to psychiatrist, she was lady and she examined me completely and after many detailed sittings she diagnosed me with, social phobia as my treatment wasn't in medicine rather I was suggested to move between people attend parties, talk with people.
